Well, I've had both (and currently have FiOS). Overall, FiOS has been more reliable, and its download speed is better... At best, I get around 15Mbps on FiOS vs. about 5Mbps on cable. However, many download sites are slower, so you will not always get these speeds. The price for the two services are comparable, so with the reliability and speed, I'd say FiOS is a better deal. However there are other considerations too, for example where you get your TV service, phone service, etc. If you get all of your services from one provider (cable or fios) you will generally pay a little less than having to pay for separate services.

This is a very good question. Yet I have not used FIOS Connection. FIOS is not currently available in my Area. On my Cable I get 18 Mbps at all time. A Computer Repair shop a few miles from me gets 20Mbps at any time of the day. I would love to try FIOS. But when it come for FIOS there are lot of downsides. Distance is a big factor and everything else is as same as cable. In some situation it is better to get FIOS and in other situation Cable could be a better choice. I got some info that Verizon has the capability and working on a plan to provide a New FIOS Running 100Mbps. Sound pretty FAST. Yes that is fast. But will be available to everyone in three years. A FIOS running at 100Mbps sound like a lot of investment. Running direct wiring from your nearest Operation Center sounds like a lot of investment. specially just like I stated before distance matter. Spending that kind of money in old Technology is not very smart. Want to know why look for my Comment on this subject.

I have Verizon , and I am happy, but I must warn you, as soon as you turn the tv on, make a phone call, or go on the internet, all kinds of numbers will start calling you, they make more money on your info, than they do on the bill. A friend of mine says the same, so I am not paranoid here...

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Its Verizon who should be sued for their incessant fios commercials. As a matter of fact, Ive called cablevision asking them to pull all fios commercials off the air. This is the same big bad pots company that wanted to have voip rates increased and one of the companies being sued for wiretapping us. Their fios commercials are misleading because in no way, shape or form is fios internet better than cable. I get 30mbps cable and verizon cant match that. Even if they could, I have serious ethical and privacy issues with them. Anyone interested in democracy should NEVER choose Verizon.
