Is this 'someone' your s/o? If so, you need to reassure them that you care but that if they want to keep their special place in your life they need to relax and let you be yourself too. Explain that this is not a rejection of them or a threat to their security but that if they can't accept it you will have to change the nature of the relationship and see less of them. Maybe this person would benefit from counselling as it's usually childhood issues that create this type of dependancy in someone. You need to be firm but loving and support them in their efforts to change and grow.
