The Chinese Government being bad in Tibet... well lets say all over china as we... Human rights well there is no such thing in Tibet.

China has no historical claim to Tibet, but it seems a shame to use all this publicity when there are more powerful subjects in the world. Sport bores me, but the Olympics stands for something bigger among the world's nations.

I'm sure if you have seen the protests on the news you have also seen that the protests are about China's human rights abuses, particularly in regard to Tibet. A great many people believe that a country with as bad a record of human rights as China should never have been selected to host the Olympic Games.

People are protesting human rights abuse by China, specifically its oppression of Tibet, a country on which it has no claim. China is communist, while Tibet is home to Buddhist monks and historically a peaceful nation that has not reacted with violence. Tibet, like many other nations of the world, deserves the attention of those who can help, but marring the Olympic games - a tradition meant to bring nations together despite their differences through the talents of young athletes - doesn't seem like the best venue.
