I haven't heard that it has. It could be that you are desperately seeking a source of your depression and have settled on that as a possibility. I would say that it is more likely that stress is doing it to you. Go and talk it over with your health professional and get them to give you a physical to rule out any illness, then go from there. (BTW I am a depressive, and sometimes the roots of it lie a long time ago, and the stresses of something recent have brought it to the fore)

I'm not a doctor but from what I can find, this could very well be the case due to the artificial sweetener used: Phenylalanine uses the same active transport channel as tryptophan to cross the blood-brain barrier, and, in large quantities, interferes with the production of serotonin. Serotonin is the stuff that makes you feel awake, it's opposite is meletonin for sleep. I would try to do without for a while, drink plenty of water to flush it out and see if you feel a change. Lots of simple things can cause this from lack of B vitamins, iron and protein or even a bug or allergy. Of course stress, as mentioned earlier, is a suspect. If none of this helps, or if it gets worse; of course, see your doctor for a full check up. Get to feeling better slothmister and rub a little sunshine on your face; it produces a D vitamin that helps too. :)
