  • In very simple terms, the Federalist party preferred a highly centralized government. The Democratc-Republican party preferred to leave more power to the states, keeping it closer to the common people. George Washington, John Adams, and Alexander Hamilton were some of the most famous Federalists. Thomas Jefferson is the only name that comes to a mind as a famous Democratic-Republican.... it made for an interesting friendship between him and Adams!
  • You forget Benjamin Franklin, Who is the only anti-federalist with his name on the Treaty of Paris (1783), the Declaration of Independence, AND the Constitution. Debatably the most influential documents in United States history.
