  • In the US something is considered copywritten as soon as you write it. You can register it with the copywrite office if you want but I don't know if you can claim the title of a book.
  • You cannot copyright a title. Well, if it is a long title with much unique information you can. But your average title of only a few words is not copyrightable.

  • As others have said, it is difficult to have a copyright in the title of a book because most titles are too short to be copyrightable. However, once you start selling the book, you MIGHT acquire a trademark in it, provided it meets all the many requirements of a trademark. You should check with a lawyer if the title would qualify as either a trademark or copyrightable expression.
  • Titles are not copyrightable.
