For one to follow instructions and complete a task is important and shows good discipline. Retaining instructions, organizing yourself on a high level shows that you have the necessary discipline to do so on a daily basis in everything you do, if you choose to do so. By going to school and learning these skills they can be used in every aspect of your life.

Respect, responsibility, and integrity. Educate your children, or yourself, in those and everything else falls into place. Is that the type of answer you meant? Maybe I screwed that up, too late now!
