In a calculator, why does the number arrangement start from the left bottom and go towards the top-right?Why not the general way we write-from left to right, top to bottom?

The calculators I've owned have been left to right, top to bottom. The exception would be when I use my computer's calculator, as I typically use the number pad on the right.
