  • Is it getting fuel? Chattering fuel pump is not the norm. try and spray a touch of starting fluid. If it fires up on that, its a fuel problem.
  • have you replaced the icm? Mine was giving me all sorts of hell. Had to take it in and it needed a new starter and ICM. Runs ok, but now i need a camshaft. I have went thru 4 fuel pumps on mine, so even though you hear it, doesn't mean it's putting out enough pressure. They are famous for this problem.
  • Possible internal fuel leak, check fuel pressure specs. Fuel regulator leak can be inspected by removing valve on top of plenum and looking for fuel leak in plenum when key is cycled to on. Also make sure you have the correct spark plug number, call other part stores. Also check wiring harness to CPI injectors
  • That is not normal to hear that sound. You may need to buy a new chevy fuel pump http://www.gmpartsclub.com
  • Check fuel pressure, must be correct pressure to start and to run. check specs. Make sure injectors are firing, use noed tester. Could be bad connection in plug, corrosion. If plugs are wet with gas, it wont start, its flooded.
