  • Do some searching on the internet to find out the pros and cons of a hysterectomy... This would be a good place to start, www.ahealthyme.com/topic/hysterectomy There is alot of things to think about and everyone's situation is different. So really, the reason for it, should be able to determine how one is useful.
  • Nicki, It depends on your outlook on life. If you want kids, then no, hysterectomy is not the answer. My wife had only a few years of having periods before her hysterectomy at age 24. She came out of surgery with only her vagina, so there was no posibility of getting her pregnant. Shorlty after her surgery I had to lose my testicles. We joked about being two neutered people.
  • If you are a bleeder, if you have dysplastic cells, if you have a history of reproductive cancer, it is a good option after you have had any kids you want.
  • For medical difficulty with that organ, but later it can be useful for no contraception in a year
