One possibility is that your hymen has been ruptured by this activity, which is quite normal.

Another, and I believe, more likely cause of the spotting, is that your boyfriend is actually injuring the tissues inside your vagina by over-stretching them. This is similar to what happens to the inside of the vagina during child birth. Use a mirror to see inside your vagina, if this is what is happening you will be able to see the torn tissues.

Although these tears should heal just fine, they can become a route for infection to take hold. I strongly suggest that you discuss this problem and possible solutions with your doctor. In the meantime, tell your boyfriend to take it easy.

I totally agree with the other answer and would like to also add that if your boyfriend doesn't cut his fingernails short, that he could be cutting your vaginal tissue with his nails. Just one more thing to consider...and even if this is the case, you'll be okay, he just may want to cut his nails.
