  • Chicken noodle soup
  • Steamed egg custard, not the sweet kind, but the savory kind. In Japanese it's called "Chawan Mushi" or Chinese "Jiang Ahn". Beat 4 eggs with a cup of water, add some chicken broth or chicken essence (like the kind in those little sachets in ramen noodle packages), chopped fresh ginger, and a dash of salt or light soy sauce. You can add cooked chicken bits or a bit of chopped vegetables like carrots and green onion if you like but it's not necessary. Beat well. Put in a bowl, cover the bowl with aluminum foil, and steam in a large casserole dish with a cover or covered sauce pan for about twenty to thirty minutes or until the custard is done. The egg concoction should be soft yet slightly firm and smooth. My wife made it for my little daughter when she had the flu a few weeks ago. It's filling and nutritious, and easy on the stomach. Fresh ginger is good for colds and flu. Hope you get better soon Random Dude. :)
  • When I'm sick, I like to eat cream cheese on soda crackers. Maybe this isn't a meal to some, but it's filling and tasty and very easy on the stomach. Another favorite is a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup.
