My cast iron dutch oven, by far. In addition to everything your cast iron skillet can do, I can also boil things in it or make stews. When I make chili for instance, I can fry up the meat in it, then just add the tomatoes and beans to the same pot. I've used it in the oven as a roasting pan for chickens, I've even smoked ribs in it on the stove in the winter. I've also used it as a weight when making Kim chee which needs to be held below the surface of the liquid. I've heard of people doing stove top (or over an open fire) baking in them too, by placing setting the pan to be cooked on a rack at the bottom so it doesn't burn, then covering it.

Do coffee makers count? If not than I'd say my small teflon fry pan. Works wonders with most items.

Remember, wrap the cast iron skillet in a towel, so as not to leave any bruising! lol

IF I had to choose one and only one: It would be my trusted set of knives. I had them over 40 years.

Due to the fact I was properly trained how to use each of them, how to properly care for them and maintain them - AND I continue doing so to this day, they work just as well for me today as the first day after I was taught to use, care for and maintain them!

"Sneaking-in" a very close 1A is my trusted egg pan!

Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it!

My 12" Lodge cast iron skillet. Breakfast just isn't the same unless it is cooked in a cast iron pan.

Toss up between cast iron skillet and a SS one with the helper handle. Though I do love my wok, too.

And then there's my hard plastic sort of spatula tool that i use for all sorts of mixing and stirring, it's terrific. When I broke my original, I went to this kitchen store and they didn't have any. So they ordered them for me and I was so worried about being without, I bought 6 of them:-)

I have two all purpose pans. They are without a doubt the most valuable pieces of cookware that I own.
