Should adults use video games, or is it childish?

Adults are the ones who created them and who played with them to get the games working and exciting. Why would they be considered only for kids? Adults still 'play' all sorts of other games including baseball and basketball, so why not video?

They should play the games. It is good for reflexes, especially the Wii.

Adults do use video games. Some of the most fun barrooms in my city have video games available. It makes great sense to have video games in bars because they take up so much less space than a pool table.

They certainly should; they can be deeply engaging mentally and are a hell of a lot of fun! There's a 'reason' why it is a multi-million dollar industry that has hundreds of millions of consumers, growing exponentially ; ) Honestly, calling it childish shows a clear lack of understanding for the field... Is reading a fiction book childish? Is watching a fiction movie childish? No, certainly not... So playing a mentally engaging interactive game that involves both complex storyline and stunning visual presentation is absolutely not childish; a child most likely wouldn't grasp even half of the complexity involved with many big titles these days... Take a look at the upcoming game "Age of Conan: Hiborian Adventures". It has over 70 years of lore behind it, includes complex adult themes (some of which have resulted in it's 'M' rating {definitionally not for children}), and much more : / ***** People who really believe computer games to be childish just lack knowledge in the field, or have a very, very, very bland view of life.

Of course they should. Video games aren't just marketed for children. There are many, many M-rated titles that would appeal more to adults or older gamers.

Absolutely no harm in adults entertaining themselves with computer games. After all, there are many genre of games rated adults only, for the violence, fear, language. Computer games are highly enjoyable (although equally highly addictive too)

Adults should act like adults and play video games responsibly and not do it too much. Most responsible adults should have a whole lot more important things to do with their lives, so it ought to be treated as a hobby and not take over their lives. Priorities people.
