  • I just program Garmin GPS with all the locations before the trip so i don't have to look at a map.
  • I don't care... cause i use a map in my home town too just to get some where ive been before lol so i get used to it either that or i already know where im going but bad memory leads me back to the map every now and then lol!
  • No, I don't care what people think. If you ask for help from a native, they dig it.
  • I have no problems whatsoever doing that. It is not a crime nor nothing to be ashamed at being a tourist. In fact, I am happy to be one and would hope that residents would appreciate it also and more than once I have been approached by residents asking me if they could help. It makes THEM feel good that they could offer assistance to someone who might need it.
  • Mostly I travel in Bali, where I work volunteer with orphanages. I know directions fairly well, but I am not afraid to ask for help if I am lost. Maps are not much use anyway, in the areas I travel in.
  • Not only will I look at my map if needed, but I will stop and stare at bus schedules and train schedules to figure them out, and more often than once I am usually stopped by people asking ME for help... which leads me to say "Sorry... Ik spreekt Engels" to most of the locals because they try to speak to me in Dutch LOL.
