  • The only reason wealthy countries contribute monetary assistance to poorer countries, is to have a political foothold in that country.
  • I vote for choice B.
  • Poorer countries tend to have more *openly* corrupt political forces that won't allow their country to grow. Sinister Cadre is right about the political footholds too.
  • Poor nations are usually only poor because they have been robbed by wealthy nations. So share the wealth amd make sure it goes where needed. I am dreaming..
  • I think it is the responsibility of the poor country to advance on their own. Although if they can bend the ear of a celebrity, I am sure they can get some funding from the U.S.
  • I believe they aready do this and have poured billions and billions into some of these poor countries over the decades and still they are dirt poor ...why?...seems to me some bastards are making heaps of money out of this and have been for years .. so A is not working ...so maybe its about time we tried B ...if these governments can't look after there own ..then ask for A ...but they must step down first
  • In some situations, I believe wealthy nations are obligated (but shouldn't be required - not that any outside force can "require" a sovereign nation to do anything - but I digress) to provide basic humanitarian aid to the citizens of defunct nations. However, the standard should of course be the responsibility of the nation to take care of its own citizens whenever possible.
  • In my opinion both has to be done.first it should take help from wealthy nations later government has to look after their citizens.the poor nation is in a situation that it has less productivity in food and it didnt have highly qualified educaton in their nation .so, it has to take support from wealthy nations later the poor nation itself will develop by having support from wealthy nations.then government has to look after their citizens themselves because it is in a condtion that it can provide fod and education
  • In my opinion,it is good that wealthy nations are helping poorer nations but it should not be mandatory for them to help. They should just assist the government of the third world countries to stand in their own provided that the money they are giving should be used for the welfare of the people and not for the few pockets of certain corrupt officials.Because even how much amount they will give would still be useless.Besides, it is the responsibility of government of poorer nations to provide for their own citizens, thus make them more self reliant and independent from the manipulation of rich countries.Actually the cause why there are poor countries is that the government officials lack nationalistic goals for their job, in other words most of them are corrupt!!!!!
  • Many of the wealthy nations try, not to mention a number of the "wealthy" nations are actually in debt. I believe there is a lot of onus on the poor nation's government as often the issues with the aid from wealthier countries getting to the people is the fault of the government controlling and stashing the aid.
  • Half the world is said to be in poverty.Wealthy nations do give, but it is a pittance compared to what they should be required to give. The wealthy countries are very selfish for as long as they have what they want, they don't care about the mother that watches their children die. Each nation that can afford it should be donating 10 times the amount. The military spending alone if cut in half could do a lot if put toward poverty and not destruction.
