  • I have, as a nanny, witnessed the picky eater as a child. I find that those who are expected to try new things (and, eat what the family is eating) generally turn out 'okay'. It is the child whose parent bends over backwards to give them exactly what they want that ends up expecting such forever. I think it is reasonable for people to have likes and dislikes, in terms of food and other things. It is those who are rude about it that bother me.
  • thats really sick. eating an oyster is like chewing on phlegm.
  • My philosophy is this..keep your eyes on your own plate, watch your own manners, and let others do the same. :)
  • I only really see picky eaters in my own life when they're people who HAVE to be picky because of food allergies, or other medical reasons. I dated a girl who had chronic migraines, and many of the supposed triggers for migraines were in foods. She couldn't eat nuts, dairy, chocolate, red meat, and she tried to stay away from all kinds of fats and oils. Think about how picky that made her... it was almost impossible to go out for a nice dinner with her. And yeah, it was annoying as hell, because I'm someone who loves all kinds of food and I like to share my love of food with the person I'm with. Never wanted to stuff oysters up her nose though.
  • Erm. I am one. And I hate different foods touching each other...I like things seperate. God, I'm cool. If you have oysters, I'm staying away from you.
  • I usually think they weren't brought up correctly by their parents but if they are adults, it's there business now, what they eat. I do worry about how some people just write off so many things just because they don't like them, or worse, THINK they don't like them to be more accurate. They are missing out on a lot. But if someone doesn't like something, that's there affair, their tastebuds.
