  • We take phone calls at any time of the day or night. We have two very ill parents, and my son in Sweden is recovering from a serious stroke. Hubby is on call 24/7 for his job. Even his computer has a direct line to a cell phone he carries, so it can inform him if it detects an unauthorized access.
  • If a family member or friend needed me. From a ride from a bar because they were drunk, to one being ill enough to need me there, to one going into the hospital ER.
  • If I'm up then I couldn't care less. I don't have a home phone, only a cell phone. I usually set it to vibrate at around 9pm. So if I'm up I can hear it ring, but if I'm asleep, it won't bother me.
  • You know...when I am sleeping,I just don't think and answer. It's like my body is on auto pilot or something.
  • I don't care if it's God phoning me to tell me that he's starting the Apocalypse, people at that time of night can kiss my ass! :)
  • I have elderly parents with health issues so if my phone were to ring at that time I would answer right away fearing that something was wrong.
  • I would always answer the phone because I have family thousands of miles away and it could be an emergency involving one of them.
  • if it rings at that time of the night, you have to answer it, it ( in my mind) is bad news.......
  • Of course I probably would be FORCED to answer it because it would wake me up...but whoever is on the other line will receive an earfull. Unless its an emergency...then it would be definitly acceptable.
  • I wouldn't accept only if I wasn't home! ;-)
  • On my home phone, definately, could be bad news. On my mobile, on the weekend, always - it's usually a hilarious drunken rant from one of my friends. during the week, no way - how dare u call me! i have work in the morning!
  • yes totally im a nite owl so i would already be awake
  • If the ringing of the phone can even wake me up.. I check the caller i.d. before answering and decide if I want to answer to that person or not. Usually I can tell if it is someone who would never call at such a time and answer out of concern compared to someone I know who is probably tanked and wanting to jibber.
  • yes if i looked at the caller id and i knew who it was and it wasn't normal for them to call i would answer knowing something wasn't right.
  • fOR VERY CLOSE FRIENDS AND EMRGENCIES
  • If I am already awake, which is very likely, or if it it family.
  • only if it was my fiance, family, or an emergency
  • Yes. If it rings.
  • Well with all the talk about that 3 o' clock phone call to the White House and how they would react, I would think it was the new president calling me for advice. Whoever it winds up being... lol. But yes, I would answer it, my family and friends would only call at that hour if it was an emergency.
  • If someone is hurt, dying, needed consoling, needed a sober driver to take them home, then i'd answer the phone, if your pranking me all my neighbors are going to be hearing me yell thru that darn phone! you had better have something serious going on for calling me that late at night or so help me pete i'll kick your butt in the morning or better yet, on a night that i know you've had it rough (just to be mead) i'd start calling you at that time, LOL =0)
  • I answer my phone at 3am because I have elderly in-laws
  • family members dying, thats it.
  • Hurt, Dying, in dire need of assistance.
  • I would for ANY circumstances... My parents and their siblings and THEIR spouses are ALL over 65 (most over 70)... My wife's kids and family are 3 hours away... My kids don't live with or near me (about 1/2-3/4 hour way each)... My siblings' in-laws are as old as my parents' ... Most my neices and nephews don't live with THEIR families... My ex's family are still friends... My EX and I are still freinds... I have friends... If the phone rings at 3AM, there's most-likely an emergency... I WILL answer it!
  • I have a few friends that know they can call me if they're too drunk to drive and they have no other way of getting home.
  • Anytime I get a phone call in the middle of the night, the first thought that comes to mind, is that there's something really wrong. My grandparents aren't in the best of health, so I'm usually worried that it has something to do with them.
  • Emergencies
  • yes if it was an emergency, i know that if my phone rings at that time it has to be because something is wrong.
  • Booty calls are accepted at any hour.
  • People will not normally call at this hour ,unless its urgent and emergency. Have to accept it.
  • If my phone rings at 3am I'm going to answer it because it's probably some sort of emergency. If it's a wrong number I'm really ticked off.
  • Yes, I would always accept one at 3 am. It's most likely an emergancy or a friend or family needing help. If it isn't, I'll just hang up and go back to sleep. If it's a booty call, I'll know not to accept anymore calls from that person. :p
  • If it's a dire emergency, bring it on!!! As my sister-in-law told us when we moved back here and lived in her house, #1 house rule - Don't call after 10PM unless your hair is on fire or something equivalent! LOL!!!
  • Everyone who knows me well knows how important sleep is to me. Therefore, the mere fact that the phone would be ringing at 3am would be a pretty solid indicator that the call was important. So really, I'd say I'd answer it pretty much without question.
  • Yes, if I was awake. If I'm asleep I have my ringer turned off.
  • If I needed to pick up a friend who couldn't drive home, I'd answer. Or if it were a family emergency. Otherwise, I roll over and let the machine get it.
  • If my phone rings at 3AM, I assume it's urgent. I always take those calls.
  • Of course there are, but they must have a very good reason.
  • If a family member needed me for ANY reason... to bail them out of jail, pick them up because they are stranded or drunk, take them to the ER, or just to talk because they are scared, sick, missing our mother, or have trouble sleeping for some reason or other. I have also not been upset when a girlfriend called me in the middle of the night after her husband was shot and killed and left on the side of the road and she just really needed to talk. The only time I would accept a phone call from anyone other than family or very close friends in need at that hour would be like when I was a Union Shop Steward. The casino operates 24/7 and I worked day shift. I gave my home number out to all the Union members and told them they could call me if something came up while they were at work in the middle of the night and needed me.
  • Sure! If its (God forbid) a friend or family member that needed me or my husband then yes I would accept the call.
  • hi, yes if it were an emergency in the family.
  • I would be more likely to take a call at that time of night than during the day. Hopefully its just a drunk friend in need of a ride or some such thing.
  • I value my rest time. Maybe if they call me to help save the world from a grave danger I would accept it.
  • I wouldn't answer it. I silence my ringer at night.
  • Yes, I would accept "any" circumstance, because it would mean that finally there is someone who appreciates me.
  • I would take any call at 3am because I would automatically assume it was urgent!
  • Yes, I can think of several reasons..
  • My family lives 8000 miles away from me, they never call when there is no emergency, so YES I will pick up the call, in case it's from them.
  • Since i'm up every night until 5 or 6, yes. 3pm however......
  • As we offer 24 x 7 phone ordering and customer support, then yes, we do this all the time.
  • ONLY IF I'M AWAKE
  • ..sometimes it doesn't matter what time he rings ..so long as he rings ... :O)
  • If my phone is ringing at 3am, I would always answer it. Of course, it's 3:20am right now and since my friends know I'm awake, they might call but they would know to text to see if I'm awake when it's not an emergency.
  • Any emergency from my family or friends.
  • I kinda have to. I work overnights at a hotel at the desk. That phone call could be someone wanting to make a reservation. Though I don't know who would make a reservation at that time, but it has happened.
  • If it were an emergency and I knew the party who was calling, I would accept the call.
  • If it was a family member or a close friend that needed my help. If it happens to be the cute guy I've been talking too for a couple of weeks, then I'm diving for the phone. If it's my job, then they can go to hell.
  • ONLY IF ANOTHER OF MY ONE OF A KIND PATENTS SOLD.
  • if anyone called me at 3 am it would be very important, and i would answer. any one of my friends who felt it necessary to call me at that hour would only do so under dire circumstances, and i would bend over backward to help them if i could
