It's certainly unconventional, but I fail to see how it would be selfish. Many men want the same thing from a woman, and it's never seen as selfish. If you're talking about an instance where one of the two has to decide which one should give up their job, then it may qualify for selfishness, depending on the circumstances.

If they agree, and he enjoys being at home with the kids and doing the home-fires-burning caretaking, why not? I think whoever is best at something should do it..if she is better at making money in the outside world and he is better at being a dad and a nurturer..why not? As long as they agree, and each enjoys the role he/she has taken on, why not? :)

No. one parent should stay home with a small child, if Mommy can't, and Daddy can, than Daddy should stay home, and Mommy should work.
