  • TAX BREAK??? Are you kidding me? $400million profit (by far the largest profit EVER) and they want a tax break. I'll break something, alright!
  • I don't think it's fair that they get a tax break. But if it was taken away, they might charge more (increasing the price of gas even more) to reduce their profit loss.
  • No.....lets look at it this way, our government has a high deficit already if we can get more tax money from our oil buddy why not use this to help with the deficit. Screw them they are doing the same to us. There is talk about rising our taxes on almost everything we do. So we end up with less money in our pockets and more in everyone else's. Screw them take it all
  • I do not agree with the tax break. But I think they need it or it will reflect on us. These companies have a set amount of money to make every year. So if they do not get their tax break they will do one of two things. Lay alot of people off every year which will lead to unemployment. Or they will raise the prices of gas which will make us pay more at the pump than we are already. It is simple economics, but of course the LEFT does not understand simple.
  • Keep in mind, one of the oil companies (just one! though I can't recall which one) pays more in federal taxes than 70 or 80% of all the lower income earners in the country combined. So oil companies don't deserve to be branded as bad, evil companies by the left. Besides, when taxes are raised on companies, the companies simply raise their prices to cover it and we, the consumers, end up literally paying for it. It's just another fake way for politicians to look like they're on our side.
