The dropout rate among high school students is at an all-time high. what are some of the reasons students do not stay in school and graduate?

Lack of motivation. Depression. Alcohol and drug abuse. I believe these are the main factors. I'm 18, a good thing I graduated high school before any of these factors affected me to badly.

Burnout. I almost dropped out because of it. Im going to graduate though.

Bluntly put,Girls are getting pregnant more and more often and dropping out, so that is definitely contributing to the percent.

Lack of motivation due to drugs, alcohol and or just knowing that the economy isn't getting any better with or without a degree.

I think some students drop out of high school because their parents don't put interest in their children's school and life. Also their parents don't support them when they do good in school or help when they are doing bad. It could also be that some students are more interested in working or a boy/girl friend.

I believe the root of all these problems are pinball machines. It is an evil game that corrupts today's youth.
