  • Macs don't get viruses and are really cool!
  • I'm not quite sure what you mean by "take care of". If you mean regular mainenance, like de fragging or disk cleaning, they're the same. If you mean upgrading or improving their performance, this is my opinion, I think PC's have the edge. Mostly to do with ease of getting parts and the interchangability inherent in PC's.
  • I was a PC user all my life until I switched my main computer to a Mac. With PC's I always encountered viruses no matter how good my antivirus software was. I've also run into some persistent spyware on occasion. Whenever my PC's would get these problems, I'd either have to do some kind of full system scan or I'd have to reinstall the OS. In the last 2 years I've had my mac, I've never reinstalled the OS. I never had anything seriously crash and lose all my information. I also don't ever have to worry about viruses or spyware. (yes, I know they are out there for macs, but I've NEVER had to worry about them) You still have to run occasional maintenance programs on a mac, but I run them much less than when I had my PC. I actually just built a desktop for family use this summer using spare and donated parts from my neighbor. I run winXP on it and I must say that I STILL prefer the Mac OS over the PC (windows). choose wisely!
