No. Eating disorders involve food and how much, or how little we eat. Over exercising falls in two groups. The usual over doing or an exercise addiction. In more recent years its becoming a concern - too much of a good thing can cause harm as well.
-
Absolutely, especially if the person uses it as a bulimic type response, obsessing over the calories burned in order to "purge" calories. Over exercising is also a symptom of anorexia and other eating disorder... Although most anorexics i've met lack the energy long term to work out.

No, I don't think so. Exercising can help people to lose weight, if they feel that they are overweight, for example. But perhaps someone could become 'obsessed' with exercising to lose weight, which I don't think would be healthy, really.

"In addition to overeating or undereating, individuals with eating disorders engage in "compensatory behaviors," such as purging (self-induced vomiting or inappropriate use of laxatives, enemas, or diuretics), fasting, excessive exercise, and restricting (overly strict limiting of calories or food types)." i got this from http://www.healthline.com/galecontent/eating-disorders?utm_medium=ask&utm_source=smart&utm_campaign=article&utm_term=Eating+Disorders&ask_return=Eating+Disorders you can read the whole article if you want...

anything can turn into a disorder, over exercising is as bad as overeating when you dont give your body enough time to rest between workouts, you can get opposite the result you want
-
Yes it can be classified as a form of purging after binge (bulimia) Purging is not always throwing up, its also laxatives, running, fasting or exersizing after a binge it usually plays a big part in anorexia, although that is also restricted food intake where as bulimia is excess food intake

i EXERCISE AROUND 5 TO 6 HOURS A DAY.i end up so wet from sweat it looks like i've just come out the shower.the only fing that will make me stop is when i physically cant move anymore. i've always had an issue with food and an obsession with being skinny.as a child i was anorexic. after being "treated" for that i kinda got to love eating.all that food i'd been depriving myself for years, i just couldnt get enough of it.so i went from a size uk 4 to a uk 10,and i'm 5'9 (1m76).but then started feeling fat, ugly,a failure. i tried going back to my old ways of starving myself.but it was just too hard.and vomiting was out of the question,i just never throw up.so i started using laxatives, until i found out that that could permenatly ruin your metabolism and even kinda burn a hole in the stomach. so finaly i started doing exercises.mainly fitness dvds.each one lasts over an hour and should be used 2 to 3 times a week.where as i'm doing them 4 to fave times a day.i did get a realy bad knee injury from over exercising, leaving me unable to walk for over a month. over exercising puts you off food.so basicaly makes you anorexic.it does affect my life as i have lost my job and flat from exercising all throuh the night and not being able to wake up in the morning to go to work.so i now do part time work and live with my boyfriend so that i have enough time to do my 5 hours a day.its quite crazy when i write this down, but i cant stop.and although i know it ruins alot of fings for me,i just dont want to stop.it makes me feel in control, and successful. not everyone who over exercises has an eating dissorder.some people generally love exercising as it releases all those happy hormones.but i do believe that in general, anyone who does anything in excess must have an underlying problem somewhere.
