  • Really? Well, I'll assume it's because their attracted to power so-long as the power isn't over them?
  • Rape seems to be a crime that takes away power from a woman while giving it to someone that they dont want or know, and invading the inner most privacy of their bodies. Serial Killers thrust that morbid power around and seem to thrive on getting caught and being in the limelight, and it seems that they almost become celebrities. Maybe thats the allure?
  • I'm not attracted to either. :)
  • Why should I be attracted to someone who wants to take advantage of my body? Then again, I'm not attracted to serial killers, either.
  • Women are attracted to serial killers? Really? I thought it was just the crazy people. Because, only a crazy person would like someone who kills. Personally, I'd like to avoid serial killers like the plague. I'm sure, most women would agree. Where are you getting your statistics?
  • First of all, rape is NOT about sexual attraction....it's about power and control. Second, the women who are "attracted" to serial killers are often insecure. According to a web site about "Serial Killer Grouies" there are a number of reasons for this "attraction": 1)Rescue fantasies: they wants to believe that she has the ability to change someone as cruel and powerful as a serial killer. 2)Need to nurture: many women have said that they see the little boy in these killers and feel an overwhelming desire to nurture and protect that part of him. 3)The perfect boyfriend: she knows where he is at all times, and while she can now claim that someone loves her, she does not have to endure the day-to-day issues of most relationships; she can keep the fantasy charged up for a long time. 4)Need for drama: during the trial, the daily events in the lives of serial killers may attract women who want to get close to the adversarial atmosphere and the possibility that something surprising may occur. Hybristophilia: some people are sexually excited by others who commit violence 5)Exclusivity: there's a real sense of ownership of the facts about the killers—which confers its own special status—among those who feel intimately associated with them 6)Regaining the lost male: some who have been abused, neglected or without a father figure look to the killer to fill that need 7)Vicarious fantasies: some wish to live out their own visions of violence through a person who can actually act them out 8)Low self-esteem: some women believe they cannot find a man and since men in prison are desperately lonely, it's an easy way to get involved 9)Attention: when they do something like get involved with a killer, people talk about them and often the media puts a spotlight on them 10)Eminence: they evolve from Nobodies into Somebodies The chance to show their mettle: they align themselves against the world in a heated defense of their beloved 11)Beauty and the Beast syndrome: they like the idea of getting close to danger that will probably not hurt them, but there's always the slight chance http://www.crimelibrary.com/criminal_mind/psychology/s_k_groupies/4.html
  • There are many cultural myths about serial killers, often propagated even by mental health professionals. Many assume there is a "profile" of a serial killer, that serial killers always go for the same victim type or always use the same MO, that they are more clever than ordinary people, and that they are inevitably charming and attractive. The truth is not as simple as that. There are different types of serial killers and while there are many books that discuss the serial killer phenomenon especially in relationship to victim types or context, researchers have not yet been able to come up with a definition, or type, that covers the broad spectrum of serial killers and their complex psychological dynamics. Ramsland looks at serial killer types, illustrating that it is difficult to accurately depict these elusive, intriguing, and dangerous killers. All I have said above is from a book, of course we don't know who they are because if we did we not find all these virtues in them, we would just get the hell away from them. Regards.
  • I'd rather have a boyfriend who pretended at rape as part of fantasy fulfilment, that sort of thing, and still be able to see tomorrow. My life is kinda important to me.
  • What does rape have to do with attraction?
