Help answer this question below.

My bf is an m.o.t tester and he did exhaust emmitions on an audi 3 litre 3 6 the carbon monixde levels and the hyrdo carbon levels came out 0.00 on both so why is it the goverment charging higher road tax for bigger vechicles ? uk

    Because presumably a larger vehicle would cause more road wear than a small one, regardless of its carbon output. I would agree though that the American system where road taxes are included in gas (petrol) excise is more fair because it accounts for actual usage.
