The conference rules exist to avoid delaying the game. I don't care what the coach does before the start of the game as long as he does not delay the pitcher's warm-up. If the coach delays the warm-ups, I'll tell the coach to get in the dugout. If he fails to follow that instruction, he (the manager or coach) is subject to "removal." The professional rules do not directly address visits prior to the start of the game, only visits made once the game has begun.
