  • I have never gotten a good answer from anyone on this either and it annoys the bejebus out of me. What I assume, however... is that because there is more pigment in the mole, that there is more pigment in the hair as well. And because the skin of a mole is more coarse, the hair has to be thicker to poke its way through.
  • Just a guess but I would say there is a better blood supply and therefore more nutrients. What should result is stronger growth.
