Yes and no...we see those who have run for political office and lost because they were too honest, or not part of some political "machine", or "power-broker lobby"...we the people have done this to ourselves. We fall for the guy we want to have a beer with..so we deserve what we get. We want "daddy" to tell us what to do..if "daddy" says its o.k. to go to war, why by gosh and by golly we say "o.k. daddy..you know best" and we keep believing that to the undying death of our soldiers. We elect the stupid people..at least in America..we could elect those who are not stupid..the question is, whom will we elect this time around? :(
