  • I probably have it about once a month, I love throwing it on the grill.
  • Aside from Thanksgiving, I don't really eat turkey. Rarely I'll have it as lunchmeat in a sandwhich but I prefer chicken. I tried some turkey breasts several years back and they were horrible. I've been kind of put off since then.
  • I eat turkey year round, but not the whole bird. I buy sliced smoked turkey breast for sandwiches and to put in salads.
  • only eat it at christmas time, although i keep meaning to buy and cook a small one, cos i love it in a sarnie, with mustard picalili - thanks for reminding me!
  • We raised Turkey's a couple of years ago and we had four ,their names were: Christmas Easter Thanksgiving and New Years Day They were HUGE, we fed them grains only and the week before we 'harvested' them we would give them apples only. They were all 'taken care of' in the fall and frozen till we needed them. The only pans that they would fit in were the alluminum ones from Wal-Mart with a tin foil cover. They need a pair of suspenders, bacon strips on the breast. And a onion in the cavity, we used to put the stuffing also but they advise against this now.We are such a big family that we need to make a lot of stuffing so we put it in casarol dishes and tin foil in the oven. But you must put some savory on the turkey or the smell and taste is not the same, not too much.
