  • In Florida I think it is 5 days, in Connecticut could be seven days. But basically it is up to when the psychiatrist think you are no longer a danger to yourself or anyone else.
  • 3 days. unless a psychrist determines that you need to be in their longer.. in florida its called the baker act. yes they can lock you up for a minor self injury without volunteering esp if you are a minor.. if your not a minor they still can all they have to do is pull off the your going to kill yourself card.
  • 3 days, it's called a "72 hour hold." There is also a psychiatrist in the hospital who you will meet with once a day. Once he decides you are not a threat to yourself or others, he will let you go. In CO, they don't release you until you have a family member or trusted friend that they interview to pick you up. Or if not, they arrange a shelter for you to go to. You bet your bootstraps they can lock you up for self injury. There are alot of "cutters" in mental hospitals.

  • in england, if they think you are a risk to yourself or others, they can section you. the longest one is section 3 and lasts for up to 6 months, but after your 3rd one of those, it is up to a year. psychiatrists suck.
