  • Fortunately, if they are being shut down, it's only so that they can weather the Martian winter. Today's story: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/03/27/MN02VQUS1.DTL&type=science I would be angry if they permanently shut down the Mars Rovers. Many many robotic missions can be funded for the price of a single manned mission. There are tasks in space for which it is still more cost effective to send men for, but a journey to Mars is certainly not one of them.
