  • Lightbulb
  • Stupid answers, unfortunately. It's part of human nature to answer the way the question is asked.
  • depends on who answers for myself i will try my best to see the positive instead of negative
  • askin a stupid question will give you what seems like a stupid answer from someone like me, but really, i was probably trying to be serious but that probably wouldn't have worked too well, seeing as you think it's just a stupid answer to make you laugh :P got that? :)
  • If you want good answers, try asking good questions. "Stupid questions", as you call them, naturally elicit answers that, uh, might not tip the scales on the MENSA meter, LOL. You generally get out of Answerbag what you put into Answerbag, and answer quality is no exception.
  • Some people might have trouble telling the difference between the "seeming" and the "genuinely" stupid : )
  • I frequently take the opportunity to give deep and thoughtful answers to stupid questions. For example, the naive question "Why don't we just forgive all the debts of these poor African nations?" The deep and thoughtful answer is that in the real world we live in, the kleptocrats who rule them would just turn around and borrow right back up to their countries' lines of credit, and have twice as many billions stashed in their Swiss bank accounts. "Kleptocrat" comes from "kleptocracy" which means "rule by the thieves."
  • Stupid is in the eye of the beholder. If the question is readable, despite the phrasing, it will be answered as whomever answers it sees fit. Even on some of the strictly serious questions, there are plenty of smart-a-- answers. It all depends on the readers' interpretation of the question. (Yes... Some will complain about the spelling and grammar, but most of them will do so relatively politely.) Just ask and see what you get. If all you get is joke answers to a serious (to you) question, obviously, you need to rephrase it, and maybe give a bit more explanation. Good luck. ;-)
  • both stupid is as stupid does
  • If I thought they were sincere I'd answer regardless.
  • Then too, a 'stupid' question and 'stupid' phrasing can be significantly different things. But still yes either way. I might scratch my head over some questions but think it'd be ignorant or arrogant for me to deem it 'stupid'. Grammar, sentence structure etc is not everyone's forte. Nor I'd guess is English the first language of every ABer.
  • Hdsquaver, an unprejudiced answerer will look beyond less-than-perfect phraseology and spelling if the question is of interest to that answerer. Anyway, I assume you are talking about someone else's problem because I am unable to detect any egregious flaws in the posing of your question. But what do we know! It's probably a good thing Einstein's ideas weren't dismissed out-of-hand simply because his spelling and handwriting were atrocious.
  • i was tempted to put in a stupid answer but that would imply that your question is therefore stupid so i shall say nothing.
  • i would say, try it out and decide for yourself if you find the answers good or not.
  • Stupidity seems to follow or attract the same. If you want smart, it's best to bait with something worth it's while to bite into.
