Whether or not you can drink alcohol in cars varies by state and city. In Tennessee, vehicle passengers can legally drink alcohol in most areas, although some cities have their own laws about it. I think it has to do with limos being chartered vehicles that require a special license to drive, so it's not likely any passenger will be taking the wheel. In any limo I've ever ridden in, the rule was that the passengers could drink as much as they wanted, but they had to buy their own liquor.

In my town you can't drink in any auto as they have what is called no open container law here. So limos can't have alcohol either.
