Hi Jacob, Tim Horton doughnuts used to be baked fresh in certain stores, but I have heard, that they are frozen, and then baked at the store. That could be why they taste like day olds. Personally I liked them better when they were made fresh. Now, I find the icing seems to harden and crack ,and then falls off creating a mess if you are in your car.

I don't think the par-baking of the doughnuts is the answer. It's probably just that the ones you are getting are not very fresh. Some locations just don't sell enough, or make batches that are too big. Complain and someone might (stress might) do something about it.

It's most likely just the location you are going to. Each store has it's own policies within the company policies.

The doughnuts come frozen then they are deep fried or baked. Then they stay on the shelf until they are sold or until they look like a 5th grade science project...
