My sister in law would be dead if she was wearing a seatbelt. The Highway patrol Officer said so himself. True story.

- Yup...that can happen sometimes...but look into the odds of being killed with out a seatbelt vs. the odds of being killed while wearing one...it will speak for itself.

Funny. I'm looking for the real answer to disable it though. My Ford Car & Truck allowed me a combination of key turns and seatbelt clicks and it was disabled. I'd like to disable the reminder in my Tahoe now.

- There is no combination that will disable the seatbelt chime on your truck. Because your vehicle is equipped with both drivers side and passanger side air bags, it is very important to wear your seatbelt anytime you drive your truck. If you don't buckle up, you can be killed by the airbag during an accident. I assume you want to drive without the belt and thats why you want to disable the chime. Can I ask why you want to do this?

- I am a police officer and know all about the law regarding seat belts and the advantages to wearing them. I do not dispute that at all. That being said, I give this scenario. You are driving on your own property, dirt roads with absolutely no chance of seeing another vehicle, at speeds less that 15 MPH. You are getting in and out of your truck frequently. There is no need to wear your seatbelt. You don't want to listen to the seatbelt reminder going off constantly but you're tired of putting your seatbelt on and off every 2 minutes.

- The easiest way to do it is to go to a junkyard and find an old seatbelt that will fit. Cut the buckle off of the belt and plug it in to the latch. This way if you want to drive on the road you just remove the buckle and the vehicle is back to stock. There is another way but requires much more work.

- Just buckle it up and leave it buckled. You don't necessarily have to be in/under it.

- @Dave. That can be unconfortable on those trucks. The buckle portion ends up sticking up above the seat quite a bit.

Wear it??? Chevy will give free of charge "Belt Extenders" for Large people & I Love mine! It makes it Easy to Reach in putting on & off & relocates it so the "Dreaded Decapitation" can't happen! My chest is 68" which doesn't fit & lots of Women also have this Problem. Do NOT go after the "Black Box" (Accident Recorder) under the Center Console. The Dealership Can Disable it when U fill out the Federal Forms, if U want to go that way, don't let them tell U otherwise. John

You use two seat belts. One is kept together all the time. The other one you use as you wish. if it is so important to you, you will figuire out how to attach a second seat belt to the same seat.

Ugh, the sheeple here.. and their cries of "Wear your seatbelt"

Some of us dont live in fear 24/7 and dont wear it all the time,

Ok to disable it, look for the wires under the seat, unplug the only one with a red and black wire, it will disable it AND fool the computer into thinking you are wearing it.
