Though a color doesn't actually smell, it can represent a smell to you. For me it will always be my mother's kitchen when I was young. It was painted bright yellow and I will forever identify yellow with it.

As darryl mentioned, colors could 'smell' like something in your mind. For me, yellow isn't so much his mothers kitchen as it is citrus. I just think of citrus stuff when I see yellow. Must've had a few to many lemons..
