No, those wires are insulated. After all, they get rained on, don't they?

They need to be 'grounded' to make a full circuit, thus electocuting themselves. You could do the same thing, but I wouldn't risk it! This link will help explain it- http://www.word-detective.com/howcome/birdsonwires.html

That depends. Can you fly? If you can grab hold of the hot wires without having your feet on the ground, and without touching anything else, then go right ahead. I don't recommend it. I recommend even less grabbing hold of two wires at once. Then all bets are off. By the way, grabbing even one hot wire and being in contact with nothing else is not safe if the voltage is high enough. If it's at more than 60 Hz, it doesn't have to be as high. Your body has a certain capacitance associated with it, over a hundred picofarads. This capacitance gets charged and discharged with every cycle. Let's see, the time derivative is 377 times the voltage at 60 hertz, so at 180 kV, that's 7 milliamps at 100 pF, probably closer to 20 milliamps. Definitely that would fall into the 'bad thing' category. Don't touch high tension lines, even if you aren't grounded, in other words.
