Its never really good to use the microwave at all. lol BUT no Styrofoam doesn't do anything to the food, the only thing you want to be careful about when heating Styrofoam is that it doesn't get to hot and melt.

They might have improved styrofoam in the last few years, I don't know. But I have seen styrofoam deformed by the heat in the microwave, which is not supposed to happen. I wouldn't consume food from that. It is bound to leach into the food
