I would feel like that person was being over the top and judgmental of me in an uncalled for authoritarian way. My comeback line would be, "Who do you think you are...God?"
-
It would make me feel Happy!
-
I would feel good that someone understood a part of me and the way that I think.
-
I'd feel like somebody had just confirmed something I've always thought about myself.
-
Guess someone thought I needed taken down a bit...all depends if I deserved it. I wouldn't like it if they were just being a wise ass.
-
what would be so bad about the truth?
-
Great ! I wouldn't waste any further extra special time on that person and get back to work :-)
-
It wouldn't change my feelings about myself because most people that know me see me as unique. I would try to figure out why that person said it.
-
Then they obviously don't know me, so their opinion is invalid.
-
Depends on who said it. Someone who doesn't have a clue about what doesn't make me special, f*ck em....seriously don't care. Now if Danny Carey or Terry Bozzio, Joey, Bonham, Moon, Pert...any of them said it to me...id have to rethink my game plan. Some of you know what Im talkin about...but we ALL know they wouldn't say that to me...no no. LOL
-
I think to most people my age that would be a compliment. Everyone seems to try to mimic everyone else in high school...To me however I would just laugh because I'm not like anybody I've ever met.
-
Normal
-
I'd say "wow...I didn't know your eyes were green with envy" :)
-
Relieved that I was right as I do not feel special at all so they would just be reinforcing what I already knew.
-
I would agree with them. :)
-
Depending how it was said. And in what context. It could feel like a putdown. It could feel like reassurance
-
Like they need their head checked because I know I am
-
I would not care. I know who I am and what I am. I am special in some ways, average in others, just like everyone else. It would probably have been said in an attempt to hurt me and, as such, I would dismiss it and the person who said it as not worth my time or consideration.
-
I would be hurt. At the same time I would have to say that they were correct.
-
How I feel every day. Normal. I'd agree with them. :)
-
i will simply say: no i guess i'm unique just like anyone else
-
I'll just remain calm and composed...Probably they don't know me or they have not understood me:)Or even that may be true...Afterall I'm not special than much more great people on earth:)
-
It would not bother me, I would just have to agree with them.
-
I would know they're wrong...because of my self-esteem / egomania.
-
Normal :)
-
I guess I would feel a bit surprised. They didn't know I was like everybody else?
-
I think it would make me feel more of an 'equal', really. :-)
-
I don't care about not being special. But I know I'm not like everyone else. I guess I would feel a little confused.
-
lol... I'd tell them where they can go!!! How did that come up in conversation anyway? You weren't acting full of yourself now were you?
-
That this person doesn't feel special and feels the need to bring me down to. I am special, just like everyone else.
-
I would scoff at them after showing them the thing I can do with my thumb...
-
Like slapping the ? out of them & saying well thats from everyone else.....LOL But the real truth is. I think I would just agree with the person who said this. And tell him/her that I never though of being any more SPECIAL than they were.
-
I'd debate the point. I am special. I'm not the same as everyone else. So are you. and you. and you. In fact all of us are unique.
-
I would think they are jealous of me...
-
I'd have to go on the defensive and help them to see why I am special.
-
I would rack it up to a tiny-hearted moron.
-
Depends on the person. If it was a person that i really cared about,it would hurt me a lot.If it was a normal person,i would think he is an idiot.Because every person is special in his/her own way.
-
Like crap..the end
-
"i know"
-
would reply with "that makes me as special as you then"
-
I'd probably feel like punching them in the face. But if it was somebody I really loved, I would probably want to get a rope and hang myself till it bloody well hurt!
-
Nah-ah, my DNA is different. Plus i could whoop you in a game o chess.
-
I'd feel the same way I felt 5 minutes before they said it...
-
Well, I'm not special. But no one before, now or ever will be like me. We're all unique. Yet most people have simularities. If you think you are too different look around. You have plenty of company.
-
It would depend who said it, and in what context.
-
fine, i agree, nobody is more special than anybody else :)
-
i would beat the shit out of him, and say, not a lot of people know karate!
-
happy... i'm so sick of being different!
-
Like they're missing the point.
-
Like a being from another planet
-
All of us are special beacuse we are all children of a wise kind and loving Heavenly Father
-
If I were in a relationship and my partner said that to me..I would feel ridiculed and belittled. If it were from a parent to a child, I would see it as a way of putting their feelings aside and not caring. If it were just a staement i general.....I would tell that person that I never said I was special and didn't expect any special treatment other how anybody else would be treated.
-
I would just chuckle to myself because there are some days when I feel like the biggest oddball on earth... lol!
-
first, calmly tell them it's impossible for everybody to be the same, (DNA people!), then, kindly inform them they are a narrow minded bigot.
-
..like smacking them..=) then i would tell them there is no way i am like them..ew
-
Well, we are all special in a different way...so I guess its true. But its not that you AREN'T special...its just that everyone else is too.
-
I would say,"That's not what your father said!" and then taser them.Actually,no,I don't think it'd bother me that much.
-
No different than I already feel... I already know I'm not special or different than anyone else, in the grand scheme of things. I'm totally fine with that. :)
-
It wouldn't change the opinion I had of myself, I'd just consider the source.
-
It depends who would say it to me - someone I don't care much for, and I wouldn't care. Someone I care much for, I would be hurt and self-reflect, wandering what caused them to say that. But if they could say that to me, it would show me they don't really value themselves, and it's their loss if they can't see that everyone is individual and beautiful. The only way I could picture someone I know saying that to me would be if I was behaving like a stuck-up, the-world-revolves-around-me cow, in which case they would say it out of spite and frustration and I would probably need it to wake up to myself...but that will never happen...I hope :S
-
Slap them next time and walk away.. j/k. That's a mean thing to say to anyone.
-
That is a very cruel thing to say to anyone and I would not be happy by any means but I would probably smile and walk away. I know who I am and what kind of person I am and I do not need justification from someone nor do I need to be around someone who would be so harsh. I would not give that person's opinion a second thought.
-
it would matter who it is coming from...if its someone important...it will hurt...a third persons opinion does not matter.
-
piss me off. i'd tell them "I'm not like anybody else, I'm uniquely insane and I know where you live. see you around"
-
Really feel great!After all ,I am a human..not angel!
-
that's exactly what I am.
-
Feel great, nobody is better than anyone else.
-
I'm not special but I am unique, I would say thanks for noticing.
-
All men are equal. It would not make me feel anything.
-
Been there. "I'm not like everyone else. Cuz I'm actually nice."
-
"Like everyone else?!"
-
I'd take it for the ignorant comment that it is, everyone has one special quality.
-
thats rude ..well who are u to judge me anyways -is what id ask them ?
-
It would make me feel like I've really offended them.
-
I have heard this before. I have been 1. offended, and 2. mad as hell. Usually people say it in a patronizing, authoritative, and judgemental way. Everyone is special in their own right.
-
I wouldn't really care. I know who I am.
-
At least I'm not an outcast of society. Plus if I were like 'everyone else' in my town I would have popped out like five different kids by now to five different fathers and have a checkout chick job at coles. And not to mention be jealous of every other chick in town who looked a tiny bit better than me. Nah I don't think I'm like everyone else by a long shot. That's why they don't like me. Hehe. :D I don't need no ones approval.
-
I'd reply with something like "What, everyone else is psychotic?"
-
good they wont find me
-
First reaction, I'd be insulted.
-
For someone to make such a statement would make me feel they were very angry about something. I would know, though, that I am NOT just like everyone else. Each of us is a unique individual, with our own thoughts and ideas, loves and hates, faults and failures. The world would be an awfully dull place if everyone were exactly alike.
-
Bummed, because I'm talking to someone so negative.
-
I would laugh in their face. And tell them to shove it. Somebody once said something like that to me when I was 13. I believe I was nobody. But I am 23 and everybody is special in their own way. What makes me special is that I am extremely compassionate and caring, and always put the needs of others before myself. So I would defiantly now blow them off. If it would have been ten years ago..I would have punched that man in the face, and said No your the one who is not special. Live with it. Haha
-
I dont want to be special. I want to blend with the crowd. I would say thanks for an honest observation.
-
I'd say "Liar!" My mom told me I was special, right before she strapped my special helmet on and put me on the "short bus."
-
Initially, I might feel slighted, but I would try to brush it off. After all, who are they to make that judgment?
-
Great! does this mean I don't have to ride the short bus and wear a helmet anymore??? but I still want my tater tots!!! please....
-
nobody's special. we are really all alike and here for the same reasons.
-
That it is the truth. I am not special and I am just like everyone else. That is the greatest gift of all. We are all awesome.
-
Like I was talking to a self-centered jerk.
-
I'd tell them I am AB expert in 3 categories and an A/B honor student.
-
I would say "Yes I am special my mommy told me so!"
-
then i would say, "you are blind and not worth my time" bye now !
-
Each of us is special in our own way. But those who make you feel bad about yourself are not important and neither are the hurtful things they said to you. Forget about those people but those who make you feel good about yourself are the special ones and the ones to always be with. We should always feel good about ourselves and make others feel good about themselves.
-
respect their realistic POV which is far superior to the impossible "everyone's special" additude, but know they were wrong. I prefer to talk to someone who is inteligently wrong than right by dumb luck.
-
NORMAL ==WHAT OTHERS DONT KNOW WONT HURT THEM.
-
it would probably be a jealous co-worker. I set the bar. it would mean nothing to me.
-
obviously, a not very special person would say that
-
I prefer the quote, "You're unique. Just like everyone else." ;-)
-
You are unique, but...
