yes, postacrds, I used to advertise my name in a world wide book, that asked for pen pals, and they usually wrote on postcards, I had a lot of pals form many different places around the world, it was fun while it lasted, it was always neat to get some mail, this was long before computers !!

Lol, yes. I used to go into grocery stores and collect coupons from those automatic coupon dispensers around the store. I had around 35,000 before I stopped collecting them. I wish I wouldn't have thrown them all away... :(
-
I remember collecting placemats of all the places we went on vacation, rocks, and maybe a few other things. My brother collected matchbooks from those same places. I have no idea where the placemats are, any more. BUT, I also collected articles about my uncle's basketball playing, coins and stamps. Again, no clue where the latter are any more. Think they were stolen or thrown out of an apartment basement. I still have my uncle's clippings.

Pogs!
-
Expired coupons from Jewel. I had 14,000, and I'm not even kidding.
-
Yes and now I collect odd and expensive things as an adult.
-
Keychains. I had about a 3 foot stack of keychains all laced together. Now I have a bunch of useless toys and albums.
-
oh yeah, vacuum tubes, computer parts, and old computers.
-
Yes. At one moment I was collecting ticket stubs of basketball and baseball games I had gone to. I had them posted with Elmer's glue on a composition book. Why did I do that? I have no idea...
-
I collected leaves. I have always had a fascination with trees. You know how some kids eat paste, or bugs? I ate leaves. I had a set of encyclopaedias that I read often... and all of my favourite pages had leaves stuck in them. Everything from maple leaves to poison ivy (I've never been affected by that stuff...). I kinda miss that collection.

Just my thoughts.

As a kid? Hey, I still collect utterly worthless things.
-
I collected those little quarter machine rubber bouncy balls. I still have them! LOL. Last time I checked I had over 150. I also liked collecting those little kid erasers, the ones that had little designs on them. I don't have a clue how many of those I had. :D I collected keychains as well. Only God in Heaven himself knows how many I had, or should I say have. LOL. :)
-
I collected rocks. Sometimes I would even paint the big ones.
-
Yes I did, and I sometimes got scolded for it. When I was 8 or 9, I brought home an old, rusty weather vane that I found alongside a road. I hid it under the deck of the house and almost forgot about it, but one evening it slipped and fell and made a loud crash, startling everyone inside the house. I got an earful from my Dad for bringing home and stashing a "useless piece of junk", though I thought it was interesting and was going to experiment with it. Turns out the experiment was to test my Dad's nerves. :)

I collected Bottlecaps

tiaras, somehow i kept getting all these tiaras from somewhere (birthday parties, fairs, making my parents buy them for me) .. i still have them all .. lined up on top of my bookshelf .. the first time people walk into my room they're always like "ohmygod are you a beauty queen?" .. "ummmm .. no" .. lol
-
you may have thought of them as useless things to collect, but they can also bring you a lot of money as well, many thing some people call junk are actually very expensive collectable items. That windmill could bring a few hundred dollars in Canada or the U.S.,bottle caps and match packages can be $5.00 and up. I have and still do collect many things.
-
Not only did I collect utterly worthless things. I put them on display. In a special box I also put the most valuable of worthless junk. -Broken glass from the time the window of our car shattered from the searing heat of the sun. -Little pig like figures I found in the dirt under a picnic table. -A round glass ball that came from a lamp. -Glitter

Yes, there was a mechanics shop next door to my childhood home. Whenever I was bored I would go over there and look on the ground for nuts and bolts, screws and the like. I thought they were worth a fortune...
-
Yes, I had a huge rock collection. I had about six large buckets of them by the time I was done kindergarten; every day I would come home with my pockets full of them. They weren't even pretty rocks, just things I'd find in the field behind my school.
-
i was OBSESSED with this one boy...ANYTHING he gave me, i kept. i had around 50 things, from pencils and erasers to confetti and keychains. he was really nice, he even gave me a ring and i kept it! it was cute
-
Erasers I would never use. Pencils I would never sharpen. Also, keychains. I didn't drive or have any keys. :)
-
Yep. I picked shiny stuff off the ground. Coins, beads, marbles, earrings, you name it.
-
Mon-chi-chi figures. I still have them. I am dating myself, does anyone remember them. Oh, a strange one. Real seals. They are the symbol for real dairy products. We had to collect them for school for some program, and I kept mine and hid them in my sock drawer. I just liked them.
-
I collected gum wrappers to make those chains.
-
Several phases of worthless collections. Rocks. Stamps. Postcards. Bottlecaps. Pogs. Beanie Babies. Stickers. Hot Wheels Cars. Shells. Rocks again. Second time, not from driveway.
-

All worthless stuff Best thing I did was put them in the Fireplace evry Christmas Eve when we had our first fire. I am so HAPPY I did that>. Oh the memories of having a living room and a house, I would not trade that for anything in the world..At least because i stopped collecting those things I can afford the plastic sheet I put over my head in the woods where I sleep.
