first thing, its spelt "similar", with an 'a'. second, Santa is nothing like Satan. Except for the anagram that is. Santa gives out wishes, and Satan takes them away.

Both Santa and Satan are Pictured Red Both Santa and Satan know when you bad and Good Both Santa and Satan punish you when you bad Both have a strong association with Coal Both punish bad people with coal Both contain the same letters! SA -> NTA/TAN Both Santa and Satan have Slaves Satan has his(Deamons) and Santa has his(Elves) Elves and Deamon Look Like Each other Both Elves and Deamons can Mean the Same Both Santa and Satan come out at Night Both see you while your sleeping Satan Has Horn, Santa might hide them in his Hat Both Bring Fear to Little Children Both are in competition with Jesus Both Live in Extreme Climates Both are Immortal Both have Little Helpers Jolly...Demonic...Same thing Men in red suits surrounded by minions They Both Choose The Most God-Awful Climates "Ole Nick" is listed as the name of a fallen angel Old Nick: "A well-known British name of the Devil It is also interesting, the book American Slang defines the slang word nick: to rob or steal "Kriss Kringle" is German for "little Christ Child chim * ney 1. a structure, usually vertical, containing a passage or flue by which the smoke, gases, etc., of a fire or furnace are carried off and by means of which a draft is created Santa comes out of the Chimney as does satan Santa Claus has replaced God in the lives of many children. Satan main Goal is to be like GOD Both Satan and Santa come out of Fire(Santa out of the Fire Place) Lucifer says I will be like the most high Santa is the most High Satan is crafty and disquises himself as an angel of light Nicholas is one of the most common devil’s names in German, a name that remains today when Satan is referred as Old Nick Maybe Santa Claus means "Satan's Claws"? Like a lion's "claws"? The devil in the bible is describes a roaring lion Ho,Ho,Ho is jesus saying Ho, ho. . . saith the LORD. . . Zechariah 2:6 ELF 1. A wandering spirit; a fairy; a hobgoblin; an imaginary being which our rude ancestors supposed to inhabit unfrequented places, and in various ways to affect mankind. . . 2. An evil spirit; a devil. (Webster's Dictionary “elf”) Satan’s ultimate goal is worship. He’ll "give" you gifts – "whomsoever I will I give it" The Christmas "Spirit"? And yes, Santa has his own "spirit." The "Spirit of Christmas." Isn’t that a little strange? Gene Autry’s famous song "Here Comes Santa Claus" begins with the words, "Speakin' of Christmas spirit." Ring a bell? . . . 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:16-17 I wonder what John thinks of the "spirit of Christmas"? 1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 1 John 4:1-3

Ahhhh, so that is that what Santa does for the other 364 days of the year? LOL FYI Satan comes from the Greek "satana" = adversary Santa is from a mumbling of the German/Dutch words "Sankt Nikolaus"= St Nicholas.

Yes the name is close, but think of it this way. Wears red, satan is usually "red". Comes down a chimney into a fire place, Satan is in a firey place. Passes judgement apon others, almost to the point of fearing his wrath (coal). When you ask a child what happens on Christmas Eve 95% of the time the answer is Santa. Shouldn't it be the birth of a savior, but the "jolly fat man" seems to take this over as well. Just the way Satan would want it. I was raised with the Dutch St. Nicholas Day. In Holland Sinter Klaaus comes on Dec. 5th. Jesus was left for Christmas. This is how I chose to raise my boys as well. Deep in family tradition. ***By the way, ONLY in America does Santa go to EVERY house in the world on Dec. 24th. ALOT of different countries have different days for "St. Nicholas", find your nationality and research it.*** I hope this helped!! :-)

Because for one thing you can rearrange the letters in his name to spell the other one. Santa also wears red and we all know that's the color of Satan's skin. lol Also nothing in this life is free, but suppossedly Santa gives the children toys for free, but in actuallity without your knowledge if you accept a toy from Santa (who's actually Satan) you are trading your soul for it. Santa takes the focus of off Christ at Christmas. We all know angels have wings (lol) and demons are fallen angels. It's not reindeers that fly Santa/Satan around it's demons. Plus Santa/Satan is creepy. Have a safe and happy holidays. lol

Because both are a figment of your imagination.
