I knew someone who won a good amount in a lottery and also won quite a bit of money at casinos. It really didn't change his life besides making it easier for him to retire. He was in his late 50's and had two children in college, one overseas. His expenses were high, so the winnings helped him greatly.

I knew someone that won millions in the CA state lottery. It changed their life, and for awhile they thought it was fabulous and they were SO happy. But it came collapsing down around them and they couldn't take it anymore and this couple broke up, had huge arguments trying to split everything in half and finally they both lost everything.
