However, from what I have heard, there might not be a sequel to kingdom hearts 2, though there is a prequel, that involves 3 keyblade students who chase master xehanort, who is believed to be the original form of xehanort, before he lost his memory and ended up at Ansem the Wise's mercy.

there is a rumor that it says that ansem isn't dead because its a running thing and that the keyblade wars will start soon so go back in time and end them.
