You are really looking forward to a get-together..it's been a long time since all of you saw one another. Your partner gets sick but wants you to attend and have a good time. Do you go?

Yes. If I was the one who was ill and my partner didn't attend, then I would feel very guilty.

I would probably make arrangements to look after her and make the meeting an early one so that I can be back with her soon:)

Id pop into the get together for like maybe 15 mins, say hi, get updated info, and get back to my hunny.

This has happened before. One time I went but didn't stay as long as I would have if we would have both gone, and the other time I stayed home, because I didn't want to go if he couldn't be there. :)

I'd probably fix him something really nice to eat, fill his glass with juice, tuck him in, remote control in hand, and swing by the get-together for a short time. Then I'd hurry home feeling I'd done my best for everyone, including myself:-)

Yes, I would go but make sure he had everything he needed and would not stay out late.

It might depend upon how sick my partner is. If they were not too sick, I might make a brief appearance at the get-together to say hello and catch up, but then politely excuse myself to get back to my partner. If they felt too bad to take care of themself, I'd probably just apologize and try to make plans for a later time.
