A bit crunchy...in flaky short crust pastry....basted in butter prior to baking...sprinkled with sugar for the last five minutes of baking....hot, with vanilla ice cream on top...oh, shit, I'm drooling, sorry!

crunchy crunchy :]

Soft, it means you took your time and prepared the pie correctly.
-
Very soft. I do not like crunchy apples in pie.

Since this was my 1st attempt at a apple pie, I thought I did something wrong, as the apples seemed a but crisp or crunchy, I know I baked it long enough. It is still very tasty, I did find I prefer this over a soft mushy pie.

Yes! :)
-
crunch please
-
I have never met an apple pie I didn't like. It's ALL good !!
-
I prefer when the apples are a still little crunchy.
-
It will depend on the apple. Macintosh are soft apples and not good for pies as they get too mushy. Firm apples like delicious or Granny Smith will be firmer when baked. I usually use Cortlands because they are medium firmness. I like the apples ina pie on the firm side, but not "crunchy." I like the undercrust done also - I don't like eating a pie that has a doughy undercrust.
-
I like my apple pies with a buttery crunchy crust and soft apples that drip with flavor. Yummm.
-
Love ’em soft, and especially love the pie à la mode! :-D
-
softish but firmish, a mix. more on the soft side...

I like some shape to my apples but no crunch. And I don't like total mush of fruit in my fruit pies.
