Help answer this question below.
If I am not mistaken the method of death form an overdose would be the total shut down of respiration. Since such a large amount would probably cause unconsciousness I would say dying from an overdose of an opiates would be painless.
Except........however.....
If you are fully aware that you are slowly going to sleep and knew you took too much and going to die, that would be a horror. It possibly happened to someone I know who did something stupid and overdosed on pain meds by accident. It is possible she knew she screwed up and knew she was going to die slowly.
I do have to take pain meds and was on a great deal of them at one time a few years back. I hated it because of the feeling that you at anytime could take another pill and die. I was so out of it and knew it, it was like slow death. It was not a good feeling and for the life of me I cannot understand why adults do drugs if they do not have to.
Tough question. I would imagine no. Heroine would be a really big high and I think you would just blow out in the middle of it. You'd go out not knowing what hit you.
if by chance anybody has looked at this question to entertain the thought of suicide, please remember god is real and will never blink. If you are not capabie of faith just remember taking drugs (I am a hypocrite as I strugge right now with addiction and I'm supposed to lead troops) and killing are neither a good thing and esspeciaiiy not healthy or positive. Please be selective with your choices, wanting what you have now is contentment and a secret of life. Godspeed my friends.

You're reading Hypothetically (and because I have morbid thoughts), if someone died from an overdose of heroine, would there be any pain, fear, or discomfort before or at the moment of death?
Comments
Thanks for your answer. But I think heroine and related drugs have some different effects on the mind than prescription pain medications. I think the person would be too high and capable of only feeling euphoria, even if they realized they were dying, they might literally not be capable of feeling fear while it was happening. Which is a horrible thought to me, as I'd want to be fully aware and fight death until the end, but I guess I wouldn't feel that way if I was dying from heroine overdose (so, in a way, it wouldn't be me, but a mentally impaired thing that looked like me...).
