I have a Siemens Gigaset that I bought years ago. I haven't seen it in stores recently, so it might be discontinued now. It's a great system, but suffers interference from wireless computer networks (but that's true of all 2.4 Ghz cordless systems). Now, lately, landline phone service is so expensive, I'm considering dropping the landline phone and using only my cell phone for phone service.

We love our Uniden TRU9385-2 phones. Link here for all the features: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16876105137 This set comes with a digital answering machine, it has a very nice orange backlight for great visibility, you can use them as two-way phones also. I'll take one down to the garage for example and my wife can buzz me if she wants something, or I need a beer. ;) Integrated caller-id, individual phone books for each phone, speaker phone capability, custom ring tones for your speed dial callers is nice. I know who is calling by the ringtone. Tons of features. We love 'em!
