  • Missionaries, Pine Ridge Indian reservation and homeless veterens
  • mostly animals as i have always been involved with rescue, but some to childline..and then my favourite, my struggleing friends who are so wonderful but just on the borderline.. they all deserve special treats
  • i would spend the money on a political campaign to try and turn this country (england)from being and ethical nightmare where logic is confused as cultural normality into eutopic paradise for the worlds chilren:). having said that iwould probably just buy a fast car and go to hell.
  • Mine would probably center around environmental activism and assistance for teen mothers. The earth and babies - what better to support?
  • i'd have to research what, if any places do this, but whatever places help children who have come from dysfunctional homes or abusive situations, even just foster children.. I can't bear to think of children suffering.
  • the most would go to cancer society since i have lost so many loved ones to that disease
  • Early detection of Cancers and Child abuse Charities. I would probably campaign to have life sentences for paeodophiles. My husband died with cancer at the age of just 39 and my young son was killed by a paeodophile. My Aunt died of Myeloma nearly two weeks ago. I think they are pretty good reasons for my choices
  • Feed The Children, and there's this soup kitchen that asks for donations every year around Thanksgiving. Maybe a few others, but I don't know off the top of my head which ones.
  • I already work volunteer for the Bali PRotestant Church orphanage system, so I would fund projects for them and for other people in need that they help.
  • Absolutely none. The money that goes to charities go into the charities, not their causes. The money you give pays for their buildings, advertisements, workers, and etc. I've actually witnessed a homeless person get turned down when he wanted some food from a donation bin because he didn't go through the proper channels. It's all political BS, and doesn't help people that are actually suffering. So, they don't get a dime of my money. If I want to help a cause, I help it directly, not go through a money sucking middle man.
  • I'd donate to my local special needs social group (the Mounties) Dogs trust and any pro-life charities i could find after all: babies like pets are for life, not just Christmas
  • I would contribute to my religious affiliation and to the Diabetese Foundation... because I'm fond of my religion and my brother and sister-in-law both have childhood onset diabetes.
  • first thing i would do is build and manage a rec center for my community. give the kids something to do in this one horse town. then i would go to cancer and diabetis(sp?) orgs and child abuse orgs.
  • I would donate some to some charity to help children, I would also donate a little at a time to the local save a titty dancer foundation.
  • If I had enough money that I needn't work, then I would volunteer my time. I think that would benefit both the charity that I chose and myself as well. I'd love to have that option!!
  • I would donate to the same charities that I donate to now, just a lot more. Children's charities, in particular Children's Cancer and Make a wish are my favorites.
  • I would start with the Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society for two reasons: I am a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer, and I still believe in taking care of my Sailors. Many young Sailors and Marines need help for all the various reasons any other young people have: they are just starting out in life and may run into financial difficulties like: they have a new baby in the family, their only car broke down, Mom died and they can't afford a plane ticket to get back home for the funeral, they're in financial difficulties and need to take some classes on budget management. These are huge sources of stress that these young men and women need to address so they can focus on their military duties and still take care of their families. These are just some examples. The other reason I support NMCRS is that I know that every single penny of each dollar goes to a Marine or Sailor who needs it. Their administrative costs do NOT come out of my donations. For those who wonder how this can be, it's because in WWII, a Reserve Fund was established, which NMCRS wisely set up such that the money generated from this fund covers the operating expenses and training for the administrative resources and volunteers. No additional money will ever be required to operate NMCRS. For any of the other charitable organizations I might consider, this would be based upon various specific causes agree with in principle and how much of my dollar goes to lining the pockets of the administrators as opposed to how much gets to the people who need it. Did you know some charities take more than 50% of your money for administrative costs? No thank you, I'll find another. Check this site out for LOTS of charitable organizations, a description of their mission, and what percentage of your dollar goes for administrative costs (2007 data): http://www.cfcnca.org/files/docs/RK/2007CatalogofCaring.pdf
