Why do I have to pay a credit card handling fee when I order something online considering I'm the only one handling it?

Because THEY are going to handle it and get charged for when you use it. Taking credit cards isn't free for businesses. Sometimes it's very expensive and quite a bother. I have to pay when I take credit cards from people at eBay but it's a convenience that really brings in the buyers so I put up with it.

its a fee that marchants are charged by the banks, some marchants don't charge a handling fee.
