no!... so long as it does not interfere with work

No it should not be prohibited, but it shouldn't be encouraged, especially if it messes with your work and your relationships outside work. I'm not sure if you're talking about personal relationships, but I'm married and if a girl wanted a "close" relationship with me at work I would not allow it. If you're talking about platonic social relationships, I see no problem with that at work, but again, as long as it doesn't waste the company's time or interfere with production.

here's what I've learned... from first hand experience and watching my collegues and staff.... as my dad might say, "Don't shit where you eat" It is EXTREMELY rare that workplace relationships work out well. Very few couples can pull it off. Work is a place for work... not personal life. It is easy to think you can combine them, but very difficult in the end... and if/when the relationship crashes-n-burns... it is very hard to salvage the working relationship...
